I have had the opportunity to attend 3 great higher learning facilities throughout my short life. In high school, I was dual-enrolled with Lake-Sumter Community College. I was able to complete my English/Composition requirements and also, earn a couple of credits for Jazz Band as well. In the fall, after my high school graduation, I moved down to Miami where I attended Florida International University on scholarship. I started out as a Biology major, and then I changed (as most students do) to a Sociology/Anthropology major. Then, as they say, "life" happened and I had to move back home. I transferred my credits to Daytona State College and now I am finishing up my degree and deciding where to go from here...
Experience
I feel that I would be a great tutor based on the fact that I have always been a great student. In high school, I was an excellent student: 3.6 GPA, graduated 13th in my class, National Honor Society, etc... My standardized test scores were 36 on the ACT, and 1230 on the SAT. I have no experience as a professional tutor, although I have tons of experience in helping friends and family to succeed. In fact, my little sister was able to read and write on a first-grade level upon entering kindergarten. I am 7 years her senior, and we would play "school" every day when I came home :) As far as the various subjects go, I have a strong background in the language arts. I am a GREAT editor, and LOVE to help students with their papers, no matter what the topic is.
